选区晶界扩散
在钕铁硼磁体的表面附着Dy、Tb重稀士元索，经适宜温度的热处理，使重稀土沿晶界扩散进入磁体，显著提高磁体的矫顽力，同时避免剩磁过多降低。通过扩散工艺可降低烧结铁硼磁体中的重稀士用量，同时可以制备出更高综合性能的磁体。
叠加磁
叠层磁铁是由多个单独的永磁体用胶水粘合在一起并绝缘制成的。这种磁体分段技术是将钕铁硼块分成多片，并用绝缘胶粘在一起。之后，将这些粘在一起的块研磨成最终形状。这种特殊的电机磁体主要是为了减少涡流损耗，减少涡流损耗意味着更低的温度和更高的效率。
